Ochsner Health hospitals and partners earn an ‘A’ Spring 2024 Hospital Safety Grade from the Leapfrog Group

Ochsner Health hospitals and partners earn an ‘A’ Spring 2024 Hospital Safety Grade from the Leapfrog Group

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Dedicated to excellence in patient safety, several Ochsner Health hospitals and partners throughout Louisiana and Mississippi have earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog. Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries and infections as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Dedicated to excellence in patient safety, several Ochsner Health hospitals and partners throughout Louisiana and Mississippi have earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog. Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries and infections as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.

“Achieving an ‘A’ grade across multiple Ochsner hospitals and partners is an honor and reflection of our deep-seated culture of safety and excellence in patient care. This national recognition serves as a testament to the skill, dedication and compassion that our teams demonstrate every day, reinforcing our ongoing commitment to prioritizing the well-being and safety of our patients,” said Robert Hart, MD, chief physician executive, Ochsner Health.

Ochsner Health hospitals and partners awarded an “A” Hospital Safety Grade Spring 2024 include:

  • Leonard J. Chabert Medical Center
  • Ochsner Baptist – A Campus of Ochsner Medical Center
  • Ochsner Medical Center – Kenner
  • Ochsner Medical Center – New Orleans
  • Ochsner Medical Center – West Bank
  • Ochsner St. Mary
  • Ochsner LSU Health – St. Mary Medical Center
  • Ochsner Medical Center – Hancock
  • St. Bernard Parish Hospital
  • St. Charles Parish Hospital

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program focused exclusively on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
