Winston-Salem, North Carolina — July 31, 2024 — The NSF-Piedmont Triad RegenMed Engine (PTRME) Test Bed, located in Innovation Quarter, introduces strategic partnership with SABEU, a leader in injection molding and mold making since 1958. The alliance brings over 30 years of expertise in manufacturing for life sciences to Test Bed participants – a collaboration aiming to leverage the combined strengths and expertise of both organizations to drive innovation and excellence in product development for regenerative medicine. The Test Bed is an initiative by the RegenMed Development Organization (ReMDO), a non-profit dedicated to accelerating regenerative medicine therapies.

SABEU’s long-standing experience, certified by DIN EN ISO 9001 and DIN EN ISO 13485 standards, positions it as an ideal partner for regenerative medicine. The company’s ability to provide comprehensive solutions from a single source sets it apart from other suppliers. The SABEU cellQART® is a high quality cell culture insert for cultivation, with semipermeable membranes and a split chamber compartment that helps to keep the inserts in place. These state-of-the-art inserts benefit cell growth for in vivo testing, allowing free access to apply growth materials and substances from all sides. For Test Bed members, this means well-built equipment to continue their research, saving time and financial resources to accelerate their products to market.

With capabilities in clean room manufacturing and company agility, SABEU is uniquely positioned to meet the diverse needs of biomanufacturing companies. The Test Bed will enable SABEU to gain inside knowledge on those needs and continue to build a library of supplies. By pooling resources, SABEU and the NSF-PTRME Test Bed will streamline the manufacturing and testing of products like TRAKETCH® ion-track membrane and cellQART®, resulting in efficient cost structures and simplified supply chain management. In 2017, SABEU entered the innovative R&D space, developing an onsite tool shop, ISO Class 8 clean rooms, QA, logistics and management in Northeim, Germany.

“The cellQART inserts, TRAKETCH® ion-track membranes and other SABEU products are a perfect fit for Test Bed members because of their high quality and flexibility to be used in a variety of testing scenrios,” explained Joshua Hunsberger, CTO for ReMDO. “The key to moving new therapies and materials to market to help real patients is efficiency, and we are confident in SABEU’s legacy of over 30 years in manufacturing.”

The introduction of SABEU into the Test Bed signifies continued steps to build and support the ecosystem. In this ecosystem, research in biomedical innovation works to pioneer new standards in biotechnology, facilitating breakthroughs that enhance global health outcomes.

About SABEU GmbH & Co. KG: SABEU is offering expertise in injection molding and mold making since 1958 as well as over 30 years in the processing and manufacturing of membranes for Life Sciences, Medical, Packaging and further Industries.
