USC EdTech Accelerator collaborates with Intel

USC Rossier Education Technology Accelerator (USC EdTech Accelerator) announced a unique collaboration with Intel Corporation focused on supporting the use of technology for learning with a particular emphasis on supporting marginalized communities and AI.

USC Rossier Education Technology Accelerator (USC EdTech Accelerator) announced a unique collaboration with Intel Corporation focused on supporting the use of technology for learning with a particular emphasis on supporting marginalized communities and AI.

The Partnership

The USC EdTech collaboration with Intel will provide free educational and technical assistance to learning-focused start-ups to increase the likelihood that they design viable, efficacious and scalable AI-enhanced solutions for learners. “We believe Intel’s technical expertise and industry insights will be enormously valuable to companies in our program, particularly those companies started by non-technical founders,” said Doug Lynch, senior fellow at USC Rossier School of Education. “We are thrilled that Intel sees value in supporting founders committed to educational equity and we believe our partnership will provide our founders with the necessary knowledge and tools to help them design and utilize AI in their products to increase efficacy and impact.”

Among other things, Intel leaders will hold seminars on specific industry and technology issues and provide training and individualized technical and business mentoring to companies currently in the USC EdTech Accelerator as well as to alumni of the program. “We look forward to working with the USC EdTech Accelerator to tailor a program to meet its cohorts’ needs,” said Michael Campbell, general manager of Intel’s Education Division. “We have been very impressed with the diversity of founders and quality of the technology solutions. This collaboration will build on our mission to increase educational access and improve educational outcomes for all learners through technology, inclusion and digital readiness.”

“We continue to be thankful for USC’s on-going support of our work and look forward to learning from Intel,” said Valencia Belle, founder and CEO of Schools, Inc., who is an alumnus of the USC program. “It will help enhance what we do for kids.”

About the USC EdTech Accelerator:

USC EdTech Accelerator offers free, virtual programming to nurture and accelerate the growth of start-ups offering efficacious solutions that improve access and educational outcomes in all education markets: K–12, higher education and corporate learning. Companies in the program are located all over the world and as a community have touched some nine million learners and raised in excess of $100 million. It is an incredibly inclusive program with over 80% of founders identifying either as women or people of color.
