In a transformative step towards understanding the complexities of Late Iron Age societies, a team of researchers led by García Sánchez, alongside colleagues Sanchez-Polo and Sánchez-Carro, has turned its attention to the fortified site of Icedo in Burgos, Spain. This interdisciplinary approach utilizes cutting-edge microarchaeological techniques to delve into the layers of history encapsulated within this ancient hillfort, revealing new insights into the social, cultural, and defensive mechanisms that characterized this era.
