Today marks a significant milestone in the fight against one of the most aggressive and fatal brain cancers with the announcement of the Ellen Siow Professorship in Neurosurgery at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS Medicine). These poignant experiences highlight the urgency and emotional impetus behind the family’s philanthropy. The funds allocated to establish this professorship come from the estate of Willie Siow Fung Wai Ying, the family matriarch, whose lifetime of philanthropy and commitment to community welfare embodied the spirit of giving and societal contribution.

Willie Siow’s charitable endeavors spanned healthcare, education, and elder care, demonstrating a holistic concern for welfare coupled with a belief in the transformative power of knowledge.
