Researchers have introduced the Automated Terminology Enhancement Translation (ATET) Framework, a novel approach designed to significantly improve the accuracy and consistency of domain-specific translations by integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) with a specialized terminology enhancement mechanism. Traditional machine translation systems often struggle when dealing with specialized terminology, particularly within highly technical or niche domains. The ATET Framework directly addresses this limitation by implementing an automated process that identifies and corrects critical terms during the translation process, thereby substantially reducing the need for manual intervention and minimizing common translation errors.
This research demonstrates the practical applicability of the ATET Framework across multiple language pairs, including Chinese-English (zh-en), German-English (de-en), English-Czech (en-cs), English-Chinese (en-zh), English-German (en-de), and Czech-English (cs-en). Experimental findings confirm that the ATET Framework yields a significant improvement in overall translation quality, particularly in its ability to handle the complexities of domain-specific terminology. Furthermore, the study shows that fine-tuning the models further enhances the precision of terminology translation, validating the framework’s robust potential for use in complex multilingual translation tasks.
By automating the identification and enhancement of specialized terms, the ATET Framework offers a powerful solution for advancing machine translation technology in specialized scenarios. This research highlights a practical and effective way to bridge the gap between the general capabilities of Large Language Models and the rigorous demands of specialized translation, providing a valuable tool for industries reliant on accurate cross-lingual communication.
