Episodic Memory Enhances Flexible Decision-Making Capabilities

As individuals cycled through the decision-making task, they were consistently observed to engage their episodic memories. In essence, episodic memory does not merely serve as a passive repository of past events; rather, it actively shapes and informs ongoing decision-making processes, representing a cornerstone of human cognition.

Understanding the mechanisms by which episodic memory aids decision-making could have profound consequences for various fields.
