American Society for Nutrition Names Locations for NUTRITION 2027 and 2028

The American Society for Nutrition (ASN) has announced dates for its flagship annual meetings, positioning the global nutrition community for two high-impact gatherings ahead of ASN’s centennial milestone. NUTRITION 2027 will be held July 26–29, 2027, in Las Vegas, Nevada, bringing together researchers and practitioners spanning clinical care, molecular and basic science, translational research, and population-level health.

In the following year, NUTRITION 2028 will take place in Boston, June 10–13, 2028, as part of ASN’s centennial celebration. The 2028 location is planned to honor the event’s origins by returning to the city where the inaugural NUTRITION meeting was held a decade earlier—framing the anniversary as both retrospective and forward-looking.

ASN describes NUTRITION as the field’s premier convergence point, where scientists, clinicians, public health professionals, and policymakers align around shared evidence. The meeting is designed to showcase emerging findings on nutrition’s role in health and disease, emphasizing how disciplines increasingly intersect to produce actionable insights.

Keith West, DrPH, MPH, ASN’s incoming President, highlighted the accelerating expansion of nutrition science into novel areas for addressing today’s challenges. He also noted that shifts in nutrition support resources require stronger cross-disciplinary and cross-continental collaboration to translate discovery into improved health outcomes.

ASN’s leadership also emphasized that the meetings will go beyond standard conference programming. NUTRITION 2027 is expected to feature scientific symposia and educational sessions, along with original research presented through multiple communication formats tailored for broad scientific engagement.

John Courtney, PhD, ASN’s Chief Executive Officer, pointed to Las Vegas as a venue that will host diverse perspectives shaping the future of nutrition science. He framed NUTRITION 2027 as a bridge between scientific achievement and the next century of innovation and impact.

Abstract submissions for NUTRITION 2027 will open this fall, while award nominations from the ASN Foundation are set to open in September. Recognition will include the ASN Class of 2027 Distinguished Fellows and Excellence in Nutrition Fellows, spanning careers at different stages.

ASN’s incoming Vice President and Centennial Taskforce Chair, Heather Eicher Miller, PhD, FASN, characterized the next two annual meetings as more than calendar markers. She described them as key moments in the Society’s journey—celebrating the last 100 years while building partnerships and leadership to drive future discoveries.
