Central to the Parker Solar Probe’s success is the groundbreaking Thermal Protection System (TPS), a sophisticated heat shield designed to withstand extreme temperatures that can reach up to 2,500 degrees Fahrenheit. By maintaining an operational temperature close to room temperature, the Thermal Protection System exemplifies ingenuity in engineering, allowing for continuous data collection during the probe’s close encounters with the Sun.
