Tom King, a distinguished veteran in electric grid research at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), has been appointed as the director of the Next-Generation Data Centers Institute (NGDCI). King’s educational foundation includes a mechanical engineering degree from Clarkson University, a master’s in materials engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and an MBA from the University of Tennessee.
