The University of Warwick is in the top 1% of institutions in a key sustainability ranking published today by (THE) Times Higher Education.
The University placed 15th worldwide in Partnership for the Goals category (climbing from its 2023 placement of 401-600) – which highlights collaborative efforts among governments, private sector entities, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to work together in advancing sustainable development.
This reflects on projects by the University, such as collaboration with governments, major corporations, and local businesses, helping them advance towards sustainable development.
The overall rank for the University is in the top 10% of institutions worldwide.
Professor Stuart Croft, Vice Chancellor and President of The University of Warwick, commented: “The UN Sustainable Development Goals are integral to our long-term vision, embedded in every aspect of our operations. Our goal is to expand our research and education programmes, leveraging our ties with industry and society to address the real-world implications of sustainable development and the practical challenges it entails.
“Our collaboration with governments, major corporations, and local businesses has been particularly successful, helping them advance towards sustainable development. This effort has placed us in the top 1% of universities globally in the Partnership for the Goals category. While this is a significant achievement, there is still much more to be done”.
The University of Warwick is committed to creating a more sustainable world by achieving Net Zero carbon emissions from by 2030, and through cutting-edge research with industry, such as developing batteries for electric vehicles.
