Tort Risks of AI in Circular Economy, Finance

Looking ahead, Chen and Hu advocate for expansive research that extends beyond the CE and financial sectors to encompass other industries extensively engaged with generative AI. Such cross-industry investigations could reveal sector-specific vulnerabilities and guide the crafting of specialized regulatory and governance instruments. These approaches promise to reveal the nuanced legal liability challenges misaligned with blanket regulatory models, leading to more contextually grounded and effective risk management recommendations. Particularly, exploring how rapid AI innovations continuously disrupt established legal paradigms will be essential for crafting real-time, adaptive governance regimes equipped to balance innovation incentives with societal safety and fairness.

The societal ramifications of this study resonate beyond academia and industry, touching upon governmental regulatory bodies tasked with framing and enforcing AI-related laws. By providing empirical evidence from the interconnected CE and financial sectors, the research underscores the necessity for policymakers to develop coherent, interdisciplinary regulations that anticipate emerging tort liability challenges rather than reacting ex post facto. This forward-looking approach aids in fostering a healthy technological ecosystem encouraging responsible AI diffusion while safeguarding market order and consumer welfare.
