uOttawa’s Faculty of Engineering expands online programs in AI and digital transformation

The University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Engineering is embracing the digital future by launching two brand new online master’s programs: the Master of Interdisciplinary Artificial Intelligence (MIAI) and the Master of Digital Transformation and Innovation (MDTI). These programs will be offered entirely online, making them accessible to students across Canada.

The University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Engineering is embracing the digital future by launching two brand new online master’s programs: the Master of Interdisciplinary Artificial Intelligence (MIAI) and the Master of Digital Transformation and Innovation (MDTI). These programs will be offered entirely online, making them accessible to students across Canada.

Mastering artificial intelligence

The Master of Interdisciplinary Artificial Intelligence program, which welcomed its first cohort this past summer (May 2024), offers a comprehensive exploration of AI principles and their applications across various engineering disciplines. Students will gain a deep understanding of machine learning, data science, and other cutting-edge AI techniques, preparing them to tackle real-world challenges in areas like robotics, automation, and intelligent systems.
 

Leading digital transformation

Launching this fall, the Master of Digital Transformation and Innovation program provides a unique blend of business and technology expertise. This program equips graduates to lead and implement digital transformation initiatives within organizations. Students will develop crucial skills in areas such as process mining, digital transformation technologies, ethics, as well as innovation and change management, making them valuable assets for companies seeking to adapt and thrive in the digital age.
 

Flexibility for Working Professionals

The online format of these programs offers a significant advantage for working professionals seeking to advance their careers. Students can pursue their studies on a flexible schedule, regardless of location.

Professor Hanan Anis, director of the School of Engineering Design and Teaching Innovation, expressed the excitement surrounding these new offerings: “The School of Engineering Design and Teaching Innovation at the University of Ottawa is excited to launch the Master of Interdisciplinary AI and the Master of Digital Transformation and Innovation. These two new online programs will provide students with cutting-edge skills in rapidly evolving fields, enhancing their ability to drive technological advancements and lead digital initiatives in various industries.”
