For the next five weeks, RegMedNet will offer an exclusive spotlight on the aims and expertise of King's College London's (KCL's) Centre for Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine. RegMedNet, a leading online community for regenerative medicine professionals, is a free portal managed by Future Science Group (FSG).

KCL's Centre for Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine will officially open in December 2015, and is led by Professor Fiona Watt, FRS FMedSci, an internationally-recognized world leader in stem cell research. Located in the Guy's Hospital campus in London, the Centre will be the hub for cutting-edge stem cell research taking place across the College and its partner NHS Trusts, as part of King's Health Partners.

"Our exclusive month-long spotlight on the Centre for Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine will not only highlight the research and insights of the Centre's leaders and laboratory PIs, but also the important work of the postdoctoral researchers and young investigators," said Alexandra Thompson, RegMedNet Community Manager. "Like RegMedNet, the Centre believes a collaborative approach is necessary to get to patient benefit more quickly, so we are proud to celebrate the launch of this amazing Centre and feature the many leaders and members who will make it successful."

RegMedNet will feature exclusive content such as interviews with the Centre's leaders, including video interviews with Professor Watt and Professor Sir Robert Lechler, Vice-Principal (Health) and Executive Director of King's Health Partners, a panel discussion with key leaders of the Centre on challenges and opportunities in cell therapies, and a panel discussion with Post Doctorates. Coverage will culminate with a video tour of the Centre, which includes one of only eight Nikon Imaging Centres in the world, and a 'stem cell hotel', where researchers can access specialist equipment and technical support to study stem cell behavior at single-cell resolution.

"We are delighted that RegMedNet is providing us with a unique opportunity to showcase different areas of our research, which will focus on translating fundamental stem cell research into real patient benefit," said Professor Watt, Director of the Centre for Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine. "The goal of the Centre is to understand how stem cells interact with their local environment: we believe that manipulating interactions is important for delivering effective cell therapies in the clinic."

RegMedNet.com, which is free to registered users, features breaking news within the field of regenerative medicine, essential information about clinical trials and drug development, and access to peer-reviewed content from FSG journals such as Regenerative Medicine. RegMedNet is a network that unites a diverse mix of experts, from regulators to manufacturers to researchers, enabling the connection and collaboration that will help this exciting field move forward at an even faster rate.
