Miniaturized infrared cameras take colored photos of the eye

(Nara Institute of Science and Technology) Researchers at the Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST), in partnership with scientists at the University of Tokyo, report a new miniaturized camera module that can be used to diagnose the eye. The module uses three wavelengths of near infrared light to give a clear image of the fundus that matches the performance of cameras in the clinic, but is small enough to mount on top a smartphone.
