March issues of American Psychiatric Association Journals cover genomics and mental illnesses and associations between recent public health crises with traumatic stress

The March issues of two of the American Psychiatric Association journals, The American Journal of Psychiatry and Psychiatric Services are available online.

The March issue of The American Journal of Psychiatry, the most widely read psychiatric journal in the world, focuses on the genomics of psychopathology, addressing questions related to how genetic variation, and the expression patterns of relevant genes, can lead to a better understanding of the etiology and pathophysiology of obsessive-compulsive disorder, autism spectrum disorder, psychosis and suicide, including

Online Now: The American Journal of Psychiatry’s podcast AJP Audio features an interview with Daniel Weinberger, M.D., and Giovanna Punzi, M.D., Ph.D., discussing their article, Genetics and Brain Transcriptomics of Completed Suicide, in which they report that individuals who die by suicide by violent means may represent a unique group of individuals genetically distinct from people who die by less violent means.
