FERNDALE, Mich., October 13, 2022— Eloquest Healthcare, a privately held medical device company, is proud to sponsor the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) public service campaign, International Infection Prevention Week (IIPW).

IIPW aims to raise awareness about the importance of infection prevention and the essential role infection preventionists (IPs) play in public health and will take place October 16-22. IPs protect communities from infection and play a crucial role during surges of COVID-19. They are always on the lookout for emerging pathogens such as monkeypox while also protecting patients from healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) which claim the lives of tens of thousands of patients each year in the U.S.

“Our mission is to help minimize the risk of avoidable HAIs by partnering with infection preventionists to deliver better patient outcomes and lower costs,” said Tim O’Halla, President and CEO of Eloquest Healthcare. “We’re proud to support the life-saving work of APIC and its members.”

Eloquest Healthcare provides hospitals and healthcare facilities with safe, evidence-based solutions that reduce the risk of common HAIs and conditions in the acute care setting, like catheter-related blood stream infection (CRBSI), medical adhesive-related skin injury (MARSI) and post-operative surgical site contamination.

In recognition of APIC’s 50-year anniversary, the 2022 theme for IIPW is “The Future is Infection Prevention: 50 Years of Infection Prevention.” Content and activities will highlight decades of infection prevention advances throughout APIC’s 50 years to inspire the next generation of IPs to join the fight. As part of this campaign, APIC has developed downloadable infographics, fact sheets, and social media materials to help educate all audiences on infection prevention and control and the role we all have in creating a safer world through the prevention of infection.

“We are happy to have Eloquest Healthcare join our fight against the spread of infection during International Infection Prevention Week,” said APIC CEO, Devin Jopp, EdD. “With their support, we can do more to communicate our message to the public and healthcare personnel alike.”

Join Eloquest Healthcare, APIC and other healthcare organizations October 16-22 for a full week of IIPW online events. For the complete IIPW event schedule and access to helpful downloads about infection prevention and control, go to www.InfectionPreventionandYou.org/iipw.
