Change in cases of Kawasaki disease during pandemic

About The Study: Cases of Kawasaki disease (KD) fell in the United States during the COVID-19 pandemic and remained low during the period of masking and school closure, findings that suggest that social behavior is associated with exposure to the agent(s) that trigger KD and are consistent with a respiratory portal of entry for the agent(s). Kawasaki disease is an illness of unknown cause that involves inflammation of the blood vessels and primarily affects young children.
