Breakthrough CU Anschutz research: First human trial of CAR-T cells manufactured on campus

(The Bawmann Group) A human clinical trial with cutting-edge chimeric antigen receptor T cells (CAR-T) has begun at UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital using cancer fighting cells developed by faculty in the CU School of Medicine and created across the street at the Gates Biomanufacturing Facility, the first cellular immunotherapy project where the developmental science, the regulatory filing and approvals, the manufacturing process and the infusion of patients in clinical trials have all been done at the University of Colorado (CU) Anschutz Medical Campus.
